photo news

it's friday woohoo! and i have zero plans for tonight. i think i'll go home and spend a quiet evening along... it could be good. actually i'm thinking i might finally start to sort and scrap the photos from my trip to costa rica this past july. between the three of us we took 1400 pictures. i whittled that down to the 434 that i got printed. that means i got rid of almost 1000 pictures, but man it's still a ton to deal with.

having to print that many pictures, obviously i spent some time trying to figure out a cheap way to do it. it's not very interesting, but seeing as i dont really have anything else to talk about today, this is what you get. first i started looking at several online sites, like shutterfly, snapfish, etc. most were 12 cents a picture if you bought the cheap bulk plan, but the shipping charges were outrageous, $20 or more. then i looked into cvs, since there's a store just down the road. in their weekly ad it says pictures are 19 cents for one hour service or 15 cents if you dont mind waiting a few days. great! unfortunately, when i went in the store they were rude and told me they couldn't give me the 15 cents a picture deal, i'd have to come in on a weekday to talk to a manager. sorry, i work. so finally i tried walgreens, and surprise surprise, if you order online you can get them for 12cents each AND shipping was free if you order more than 100 pictures or something like that. so i am officially not printing pictures at CVS anytime in the forseeable future.

in other photo news, i made a photo book online using the pictures from my family's trip to albuquerque in october. i'm giving this to my mom for christmas. i ordered it a few days ago, so i'm hoping to get it next week. i've never done one of these before, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it looks great!

In the beginning...

Welcome to my new blog! ha, not that anyone's reading this, but that will come... eventually... maybe. I haven't quite decided what I want to do with this blog yet, but I'm working on it. So for now you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a mundane story about my day.

My eye has been twitching. For two days now, nonstop. It's my left eye, and it's actually directly underneath the eye that has been twitching. I have no idea what is causing this or how to stop it. I did a bit of googling, and the most likely causes are stress or fatigue. But to be honest, there's not really anything terribly stressful going on in my life right now, at least not more than normal. and I certainly don't think I've been lacking in sleep lately, i mean, i went to bed at 9:30 last night! (lame i know, what can ya do). It's driving me crazy, cause I can feel it every time. And today I've had several people tell me "your eye is twitching". well duh, I had no idea, thanks.

Well now that that fascinating story is done, let me do one more thing before I close out this inaugural post. Let's see... how do you post a picture....

hmm... looks like that might've worked! This picture is from halloween. The matching hats are curtesy of my mother, likely a saturday morning special. The "darren" shirt was part of my costume last year (long story haha). And if you look closely, my shirt says "GET LOST". yes, this is the shirt I wore while handing out candy to cute little children. Nice, Leah. It's actually a hiking shirt, and I didn't really think about how it would look to strangers until it was too late. oh well. well that's it for today folks, catch ya next time!
